Virtus Bologna: Ante Zizic rejects loan to Besiktas

MARKET UPDATE – Ante Zizic has turned down a transfer to Besiktas: Virtus Bologna had reached a financial agreement with the Turkish club.

Segafredo Virtus Bologna and Besiktas Fibabanka Istanbul had reached an agreement for the loan of Ante Zizic until the end of the season. However, the Croatian center rejected the transfer, temporarily halting the operation that could unlock the Vu Nere’s market moves (source: Dario Ronzulli).

Earlier today, news broke that Virtus Bologna had put former Efes Istanbul player Andrejs Gražulis on the market. The club’s hope is to find a buyer for one of the two big men in order to free up extra budget for acquiring a new center.

Ante Zizic joined Virtus Bologna in December 2023, signing a contract valid until June 30, 2026. In the current season, the Croatian center is averaging 5.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, and 9.3 points with 8.3 rebounds in the LBA Serie A.
