EuroLeague, Player Ratings for ASVEL Villeurbanne vs. Virtus Bologna 87-85

Segafredo Virtus Bologna loses to LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne 87-85 at the Astroballe in the second round of the 2024/25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. Here are the player ratings for the Bianconeri.

Isaia Cordinier, rating 7.5 – Starts the game with energy, dominating on offense and setting up his teammates with 6 assists. For much of the game, he was an unsolvable puzzle for the opponent’s defense. He played an excellent game overall, though his final play was marred by selfishness, where he was blocked in the last action.

Marco Belinelli, rating 6 – Played for many minutes with some ups and downs. On one hand, he struggles defensively, but on the other, he scores key baskets when his team is struggling. His block in the final moments was important, but the mistake in the crucial moments weighs heavily.

Alessandro Pajola, rating 6.5 – Solid performance with good decision-making on offense and 5 assists while managing the team. Unfortunately, foul trouble limited him, and he was forced to leave the game six minutes before the end.

Will Clyburn, rating 5.5 – Decent in the first half, where he contributed offensively, but faded in the second. In particular, an unfortunate offensive foul and a crucial error in the final moments prevented him from taking on his usual leadership role.

Tornike Shengelia, rating 5.5 – Played many minutes but alternated good plays with mistakes on both offense and defense. He also struggled on the boards. In the final quarter, Polonara was often preferred over him, which shows that he didn’t impose himself as expected.

Daniel Hackett, rating 4.5 – Played a few minutes but was completely out of the game. He was hardly noticed and had minimal impact on the match.

Andrejs Gražulis, s.v. – No rating for the Latvian as he did not play.

Matthew Morgan, rating 6 – Brought some energy, scoring a couple of important three-pointers, but he missed a crucial one in the final quarter that could have changed the game.

Achille Polonara, rating 6.5 – Despite not being the main protagonist, he made his presence felt with his grit. He played with determination, providing a couple of valuable assists, and his overall steadiness was useful in difficult moments.

Mouhamet Diouf, rating 7 – Exceeded expectations. On defense, he completely changed the team’s dynamics, troubling the opponents. He also scored 15 points with 4 rebounds, showing that he was fundamental in such a balanced game.

Ante Zizic, rating 4 – Unfortunately, his performance was below par. Defensively, he was consistently attacked on the pick-and-roll, and he struggled on the boards. He failed to contribute positively to the team and became a weak point during crucial moments.

Rayjon Tucker, s.v. – The former Reyer Venezia player watched the game from the sidelines as an inactive participant. He did not play.
